Marshal Street Park RDF-19

Marshall Street Park                                                                                                                  Site #6241
500 Marshall Street  Safety Harbor, FL 34695                                                                    Pinellas County

This Is Safety Harbor’s answer to an everyday naturalist park with 9.5 acres of true natural habitat. A great place to explore a little bit of beautiful nature along the creek, under the trees and  off of the Boardwalk.

Amenities include: playground, two picnic shelters, restrooms (open from 10-4), nature boardwalk over a cypress swamp, tennis courts, racquetball courts and a footbridge to nature trails. Located North of downtown, and just west of the Philippe Park.

Photo- The south side of the nature trail is over run with vines and air potatoes.
Much of the trail is bare ground rather than wood chip mulch,
and has no signage or blazes.

Photo- The information kiosk at the trailhead did not have a map/sign
or paper map, so the trail unexpectedly dead-ends into a fence with a
no trespassing sign. Back the way you came is the only option! How rude!

Photo- In the South East corner of the park, just on private property (according to the sign)
is another bridge into the nature area. This would be a logical place for the
nature trail to come out of a grand loop to the formal area of the park.
It does not appear to be connected to the dead end trail system, and
is much lighter build that the trail bridge on the west side. Loop
trails get much more traffic....

Photo- This is the trailhead (rules but no trail info) and bridge at the \
South West corner of the formal park. If this trail looped in a circle to the
south, then east, then north east it
would make a grand circuit with the swamp boardwalk and the restrooms.
